Glad to see the overwhelming numbers on the side of no attack. However, I would also like to see polling on the question of why not. That is, I would like to see people giving some thought to the matter.
That might give rise to public logical discussion leading to rationale stances and behavior. Without this the American public is vulnerable to having its emotions manipulated in support of an Israeli attack with the US giving military support. All that is necessary is a "9/11" or a "Pearl Harbor."
Of course the knee-jerk answer would be no attack. Any American realizes an Israeli attack means our involvement. Who wants war and its misery, especially now? That being said, we must recognize that the media is very capable of making a case for war to the emotions of people.
Why would MSNBC do such a poll? You have to wonder. Asking the question lends rationality to an irrational prospect. Is it a gauging of public opinion to determine what degree of manipulation would be necessary to get public support?
That would be pretty devious. But there are devious people in the world.
